I’ve just seen a report on here that Ryanair is planning to rip out some of the rear seats, on flights of not more than 1.5 hours, allowing people to travel for much less (free?) if they stand. They are talking about bar stools like on trains.
Begs the question what about hitting turbulance? Personally I’d far rather be strapped in, even if Ryanair flights are like airborn cattle trucks and if they go down, the chances of getting out are pretty low (experience Stanstead to Salzburg and also Stanstead to Newquay!!).

Not a company i would fly with.
ahaha , i saw this awell! I dont think that boeing and safety officials would let this :L
It would be illegal to do this: aviation authorities mandate the use of impact-absorbing seats and belts.
I tend to discredit ryan air a lot
they make it a lot of it up!
like they are the ones that thought about charging to use the lav on the plane (turns they were only joking) and others ideas
now standing on airplane-come on!
No way! I fail to see how they could manage that – surely safety would dictate otherwise. Are those who are standing to get strapped to the fuselage on take off/landing? Same with turbulence. How silly.
I think I’ll stick to paying normal price to get a seat – even if the flight was a short one, I’d rather be comfortable, thanks!
Never gonna happen.
