Should I reserve train seats in Central Europe?

salzburg travel
Sherri asked:

I will be traveling in Central Europe among Budapest, Prague, Salzburg, and Vienna in May, which is during peak tourism time. Do I need to purchase tickets in advance or reserve seats on the trains? My original plan was to just purchase tickets the day of the planned ride. I was just wondering if trains are ever sold out, which could mess up my plans.

if you now exactly what days and times your going to all these place it cant hurt but in my opinion the holidays are a lot more fun if you keep it relaxed and rock up to the station and see whats available. have u looked in to an inter rail ticket as well probably cheaper if your traveling that much. first link is for planning and booking trains Second is for info on inter rail

    have fun

plus the only trouble i have with trains in peak season are night train so i would advice u book them but that can be down 1-2 days in advance
