Beginning next fall I will be spending 12 months in Europe, mainly in Salzburg Austria. I will spend winter and summer breaks from school traveling all around Europe.
I suspect getting a year plan would be my best bet. Anyone have any information they can provide?
Buy a local chip and use it. Its much cheaper then roaming with yours. Then redirect calls from your old number to that new number. In that case you dont have to pay for incoming overseas calls.
I am an American and moved to the Czech Republic August 2007. Your cell phone will not work overseas if you are planning to use it.
Your best bet is to go to a mobile phone store and see what they have to offer. Here in CZ it is more expensive to have a contract then to buy phone cards….because of early termination fees etc….I looked into a one year contract here and they just do not offer them.
Good luck and enjoy your travels.
