Yes cameras can be a carryon, I make 4 flights to germany each year and bring my camera and laptop as carryons, Slazburg is a nice city to visit for a day or two, but not for a week. Go on the sound of music tour, its worth it. They take you all around the mountain country side. If you can after two days try to make it into germany. Visit bamberg, its the mst toured city in germany. The romantic road is right there also.
